Warm natural tones enhanced this minimalist cloakroom and shower room using unique and stylish design solutions.

THE CHALLENGE

Complementing the warm natural tones of our clients’ stylish exposed brickwork hallway was the key to designing their downstairs cloakroom and shower room.  Wishing to create the modern urban feel that would seamlessly flow from one space to another. 

Downstairs cloakrooms are the areas which guests are most likely to see when they visit your home.  This is a space where you can showcase your interior design as well as add a touch of personality.  Our clients wished us to design a room that matched their tastes and lifestyle as well as creating a space that worked seamlessly as both a cloakroom and an additional shower room.

Our challenge was to create a dual purpose room offering the flexibility they needed whilst mirroring the high standards of design already displayed in their home.

THE SOLUTION

Porcelain wood look tiles were chosen for the walls and floor to blend with the exposed brickwork hallway to design an urban oasis.  A place of tranquillity to escape and unwind with a natural organic backdrop due to the imperfection of wood with irregular knots and texture.  The wood tile also expresses an uncomplicated modern clean design with Scandinavian influences. The earthy tones throughout the room provided perfect harmony throughout the space to create a warm, comfortable atmosphere.

Clean lines were needed for the sanitaryware and Laufen’s Ino basin almost gives the appearance it is floating although delicate in design it is made from tough saphir ceramic.  Complimented with a stylish minimalist puravida basin mixer.  Laufen’s back to wall wc with hidden cistern also retained the simplicity to the design.

Matki’s Illusion Quintesse shower added a contemporary elegance with harmonious curved glass and luxurious offset corner.  Hansgrohe thermostatic mixer and raindance shower kit in chrome provided the opulent shower experience.

Recesses and glass shelves were subtly incorporated into the design offering practical storage as well as the opportunity for our clients to add unique accessories to personalise the space.

A designer Ax Spa radiator was included for warmth and storage coloured to blend against the feature walls. Final touches such as the bespoke round mirror with LED lighting added a softness to this calm retreat.

THE RESULT

Natural tones of wood balance and create softness to our client’s urban design.  The striking modern but calm space welcomes guests to this cosy cloakroom.  Relaxation can also be experienced with the addition of the luxurious and spacious shower creating the warmth and atmosphere of a spa.
