Our Story

About Sanctuary Kitchens And Bathrooms

Sanctuary Kitchens and Bathrooms is owned and managed by design duo Emily Hyde and Kate Diss, working from our stunning showroom on Shepperton High Street in Surrey.

Established in 2005, Sanctuary has grown from being a small bathroom supplier to one of the most respected kitchen and bathroom companies serving Surrey and the surrounding areas.

At Sanctuary Kitchens and Bathrooms, we design, supply and install kitchens and bathrooms for rooms of virtually any size. We can help with projects from a compact en suite through to a huge, open-plan kitchen or multiple rooms.

MEET YOUR DESIGNERS

Emily Hyde – Bathroom Design Director

“I co-founded Sanctuary Bathrooms with my husband because we saw a need for an independent bathroom design, supply and installation company in the Shepperton area that was centred entirely around the customer.

I had a background in business and marketing, but wanted to use my creative flair and interior design skills. I’m realistic and know that great rooms don’t just happen, so I always act as project manager, paying attention to the details that take our clients’ bathrooms from ‘good’ to ‘WOW!’

My big thing is to always be pushing limitations: if your room is small, we’ll make it look bigger; if it’s dark, we’ll bring in light; if you have particular needs after an accident or illness, we can make the room easier to use, or if you have a busy family, we’ll make sure it’s practical and simple to keep clean as well as beautiful.

We design, supply and fit bathrooms around your lifestyle – for one family I had to take into account the needs of three labradors!”

Kate Diss – Kitchen Design Director

“I’ve been designing kitchens for 30 years and just can’t imagine doing anything else. I originally studied 3-Dimensional design at Berkshire College of Art & Design, including product, exhibition and interior design.

I love being really creative with kitchens, whether they’re for small flats or large family homes. I often throw all the balls up in the air to see what it takes to come up with a better use of space and a more innovative approach.

Just because most people put a sink under the window doesn’t mean that’s the best place for it!  I look at how the room works, listen to what you want, and come up with a unique, creative solution that will make your kitchen the heart of your home. Our in-house team of expert installers then make sure that your kitchen is everything you dreamed of.”
