Bathrooms in Sunbury-on-Thames

Sanctuary Kitchens and Bathrooms recently completed a stunning renovation of a bathroom in Sunbury upon Thames where a compact freestanding bath, the Ios from Victoria and Albert baths, became the main feature as you entered the room.  Combined with a wall mounted bath filler and designer towel rail this gave this bathroom the real ‘wow’ factor.  The wall hung WC frame was integrated into the main partition wall structure to free up precious space within the room.

Two recesses were key to the design, one directly next to the bath for toiletries and the other next to the basin.  The wall mounted bath filler was mirrored with complementing wall mounted basin mixer in a delicate design from Crosswater.

Sunbury is located just 16 miles southwest of central London, bordered by Feltham and Hampton and bordered on the south by the River Thames. The Three Fishes in Green Street, Sunbury is one of the oldest pubs in Surrey, thought to date back to the 16th century.

The town of Sunbury on Thames, also known as Sunbury, is within Surrey under the borough of Spelthorne.  Sunbury has two key areas; Lower Sunbury, also known as Sunbury village, which borders the River Thames and includes the majority of Sunbury’s schools, recreation areas and open parkland. Sunbury Common and aside from its tower blocks is of similar composition and houses many of Sunbury’s businesses.

Lower Sunbury is very similar in its property profile to the neighboring areas of Hampton.  Here is a good mixture of Victorian terraces combined with lots of 1930s detached houses which offer a more affordable alternative to London within a leafy village.  Thames Street with its historic buildings and plentiful pubs and restaurants has been recognised as a conservation area, this area includes a stunning stretch of the River Thames leading up to the local church.

The area of Sunbury is primarily residential but is also home to some of the UK’s well-known brands including BP’s Engineering and Research Centre, which has since evolved into BP’s international centre for business and technology and is home to a large number of BP’s business units. A number of other major companies, including Chubb, also have premises.

Sunbury has been the base for the London Irish Rugby Club since 1932, hundreds of teams’ turnout for the club each weekend during the rugby season.  Kempton Park racecourse is also based in Sunbury and is not only utilised by local businesses for key events but holds a weekly local market.

Anyone who knows of Sunbury will be familiar with the annual Sunbury regatta which takes place every August around River Mead Island.
