A VERY COMPLEMENTARY ENSUITE

A VERY COMPLEMENTARY ENSUITE

Complementary Ensuite

A complementary ensuite was needed for our client following the refurbishment of their master bedroom. The room needed to flow well from the bedroom but also become very low maintenance making it easy to keep clean and tidy.

At just 1.7 x 2.5 metres, we investigated the possibility of extending the client’s ensuite as part of the survey. By re-hanging the door, changing it to open out into the bedroom we maximised the area on entry to the ensuite ensuring the door didn’t clash with any of our new bathroom fittings.

To create a room with clean lines and storage we incorporated boxing on the right hand wall to hide all pipework and wastes for the WC, basin and shower. This allowed us to include a wall hung WC and vanity unit for storage with a stylish modern basin within the design

Purposely the boxing in the WC and basin area was created at half height to give the client a significant amount of space for accessories. Through wall mounting the furniture and sanitaryware the bathroom floor became easier and quicker to clean which was a must for our client.

As part of our brief an accent coloured feature wall was requested which we designed behind the mirrored cabinet positioned centrally above the WC and basin. The cabinet provided further hidden storage and a practical external sensor switch for ease of use.

We wanted the client to have a luxurious ensuite which was achieved by designing a large walk in shower area. To support the request for an easy to clean area we utilised a Bette low level shower tray in white rather than a traditional wet room. This gave a clear definition of the wet area with semi-frameless designer glass screen providing a streamlined look whilst protecting the rest of the room from any excess water.

With limited wall space available underfloor heating was included and an asymmetrical heated towel rail placed on the left hand wall close to the shower area which allowed towels to easily slide off the rails.

When entering the room the focus was the shower area so a full height mosaic feature panel was an integral element of the design. This was extended into a niche adding a further design feature along with essential storage within the shower area.
