29 May FAIRYTALE REINVENTION
Reinventing the kitchen with bespoke designs to bring back the splendour to this fairytale home.
This stunning property in Weybridge was originally built in the style of a French Chateau with feature fairytale round towers. Having been rented for many years the owners had decided to make it their main home and had enlisted the help of an interior designer to renovate the whole property.
Sanctuary were approached to redesign, supply and install the new kitchen. The challenge was to relocate elements of the kitchen to the dining room positioned at the back of the house. This would then allow the clients easy access to the outside with views over the wonderful garden.
The family were looking for a flexible and practical space which could accommodate their lifestyle whilst achieving their desire for a beautiful unique kitchen.
A fusion of modern living with classic designs were required to connect with the overall redesign of the property to create an intimate and relaxing kitchen space.
Selecting a handmade kitchen by Woodstock allowed for bespoke elements throughout giving us the flexibility to design and deliver a truly personalised kitchen. A framed stylish mantle created the centre feature of the back wall with vintage antique toughened glass backsplash reflecting the lovely garden beyond.
The symmetrical design blended modern appliances with classic inframe shaker style doors which included butt hinges and oak effect interiors. These housed 2 single ovens ,a microwave oven and a steam oven by Miele on the left hand side and two integral fridge freezers on the right, one with a plumbed in ice maker – ideal for entertaining.
Drawer units were included wherever possible providing ease of use to locate everything and maximise storage. A separate pantry larder and utility area kept the kitchen surface areas free whilst adding invaluable storage for food, wine, herbs and equipment.
Positioned centrally was a luxurious statement kitchen island which we were able to create at over 4 metres in length and 1.2m deep. The generous proportions gave our clients scope to include two dishwashers, a hansgrohe sink with Quooker flex tap and a breakfast bar area for four people.
Two subtle tones added the finishing touches to the hand crafted doors and draws, Zoffany’s Harbour Grey for the units along the back wall and Farrow and Ball’s Charlestone Grey adding a subtle darker colour to the island. Seamless worktops in Corian’s Limestone Prima fluidly flow in tones of white, tan and grey with flecks of white and black adding visual texture.
The exquisite finish of this bespoke handcrafted kitchen was exhibited in the details from handmade oak trays to solid oak box tailed drawers giving them extra strength as well as style.
Natural beauty shone through the luxurious design with the inside space connecting elegantly with the outside space whilst delivering a practical family kitchen for the whole family to enjoy.
